"The story behind this piece goes back to who am I today; growing up being the rascal that I was; getting punished for all those naughty deeds. Being an adult and getting to where I am today, those are things that I hold closely to myself when I reflect back on my life.

Two years ago when I lost my mom, it was one of the hardest moments for me in life. Nothing I have gone through could match up to that moment and it’s something I could never prepare for or see myself dealing with it.

It was at that moment that i reflected; all those wonderful memories I had with her (which included the countless number of punishments which I have received from her growing up); everything came to light; things that didn’t make sense to me before made sense now.

It is that moment that i decided, that i needed to slowly pick myself; to gather all that strength and get back on my feet again. Though i wouldn't say that i am completely healed from the void that she left in me, but I am very much getting there.

The reason i chose black for this bracelet is to represent the darkness i faced, which helped me see with a little more clarity and cherish all the colourful and beautiful experiences with her; the precious moments I had growing up; the unforgettable memories that we've made...

During these difficult times, i've come to realise the meaning of friendship and family; to see people in a new perspective; to understand that it is only a handful of people that will always be there by your side in times of trouble...

In this life, only you and you alone are your own strength. It boils down to you to make it happen; to crawl out of the dirt and to find the courage to live again. This bracelet signifies your will; your heart; your stronghold. It is a reminder that no matter how hard things get, no matter how the odds are stacked against you, and no matter the challenges, we will make it through alright. Just believe...."
