"Since young I've always wanted to do everything on my own; to do things right. It gave me a sense of independence and control over the outcome; fearing that if completed any other way, it wouldn't be exactly the way i liked it...

Being a competitive person; i was always hungry for achievements and wanting to be above everyone else. I used to push myself to the limits, taking on everything as a challenge to myself; as a competition within me. Throughout those years, i've had my share of successes with the sports that i was apart of, and like every story, all great things comes with an equally great price to pay. Understanding this thought me that nothing in life comes easy and that we are rewarded for the efforts that we put into our game; the time that we spent improving ourselves and our lives would somehow pay off by itself...

In the midst of all that successes, beauty and fairytale; along came the crude awakening...

For the past couple of years, my life has been a rollercoaster in terms of my career and relationships with people; it has been tough. All these years, i have been a carefree person, believing in the beauty of people, that work could be more than just a means to make ends meet. For me, i always thought that working should be a way we express ourselves creatively with a common vision alongside everyone else; working towards the same goal; to create our little heaven on Earth. I always believed in a pure and sincere friendship, that it is easy and normal to find genuine people who sincerely cared about you, and boy was i naive...

Going out there into the industrious world showed me a side that i could never imagine; a world filled with unhealthy competition towards riches, spiritless comparisons to kill the confidence of another, a race towards no end. It showed me that in order to survive, i have to hurt instead of help, i have to be indifferent instead of care, i have to grab instead of share, and hate instead of love. It showed me that i had to become someone else in order to not get eaten alive; that i needed to become less human...

What has become of our society? What has become of our World? What has become of humanity? Is this really the promise of life? Is this how we should go on spending the rest of our lives? As i ponder upon these questions, i begin to see that though life may not be all sunshines and rainbows, it does have its moments.

When i see us living harmoniously in a country filled with people from different religion, race and creed, there must be some kind of miracle at work here. When i see people coming together to serve a higher purpose, giving their lives for the life of another during times of trouble, there must be some higher power that is at work controlling these situations; bringing the best out of us. When i see someone stopping the traffic on a busy road, risking his life so that others could get to the other side, there must be something that drove this guy to be something more. What was it? What was all these mysterious powers that came into play, governing our actions, making us beautiful again? It was love...

In the midst of all these chaos, there are moments where if we look carefully enough, we can see glimpses of hope in humanity; that the human heart is still capable of loving the unknown; capable of becoming what we were all meant to be; capable of magic. Knowing this has given me faith that no matter what happens, we will be alright...

My message to all of you is that there will be times in life where we are on top of the world, and times where we hit rock bottom. Too often we fall prey to the notion that our world is filled with mean and horrible people; mainly influenced from the way we are wrongly represented by the powerful and the corrupt; from the way the media paints us to be; setting us on a less than fulfilling life towards our own destruction...

However today i'm here to tell you as a person who has hit the lowest point in my life, to have Faith. Don't stop believing in yourself; don't stop believing in the power that you can become. Life is a journey of wondrous mysteries filled with endless lessons and victories. The only way we can truly enjoy it is by keeping our Faith; by knowing that no matter where we are right now in our lives, there will always be better days ahead. Keep our heads up, have faith and never look back. Afterall, where is the fun in life if it was just all sunshines and rainbows? *winks*"
