Wisdom From This Stone :
"If you find yourself drawn towards this stone, it usually means that you're in a situation where you find yourself stuck and uncertain about the road ahead. Even-though you've tried long and hard to do what you need to do in order to build your life, however for some reason, the dream that you have still feels so far from you.
In fact, it feels like there is a limit to what you can achieve; like there is a ceiling that is stopping you from going beyond the level that you know you're capable of.
Despite all that, the whispers in your heart still wants to believe in something more; something larger than what you're able to see right now; something magnificent.
Being called to this stone often means we are being called to 'Purpose'. It means that the way to move past the walls around you, is by 'realigning your intention with the work your soul came here to do'. In other words, the breakthrough that you've been waiting for lies in your ability to use your life as a tool to empower others.
The failures of the past; the hardships, sorrows, pain and suffering has only been preparing you for this very moment. It is present in your life not as a punishment, but as a blessing for you to grow from.
While most of us tend to suppress the pain and agony of the past in hopes of 'letting time heal', the Gold Sheen Obsidian teaches us that the only way to truly heal from the past, is by facing our deepest pains and learning from it one moment at time.
Being connected to this stone brings forth the problems and blockages in our lives that has been holding us hostage from our future. It reveals the root of our problems, removes the blockages of the past (especially the ones connected to wealth & abundance), while showing us that the path to healing begins with a simple step of 'letting go'.
It reminds us that 'Abundance' comes the moment we are able to let go of the chains surrounding our pain; while teaching us that the secret to infinite wealth lies in our ability to live a 'purposeful life' in service of something much greater than ourselves.
Last but not least, having this stone close to you cleanses away the negativity; while helping you release the people, habits and beliefs that has been holding you back from living the life that creator has for you...
A life filled with endless dreams, imagination and possibilities..."
Meditation :
Meditating with the Obsidian helps us to reach deep meditative states; bringing inner visions, deeper communication with the spirit, while teaching us that the way through our problems is by relaxing ourselves and letting the solutions flow freely into our awareness.
History, Myths & Legends :
Nicknamed the Wizard's stone, the Gold Sheen Obsidian is a beautiful and mysterious stone that has captured the imagination of people for thousands of years. It has a rich history that connects us to the land and the ancient beliefs of the native people who first discovered it.
Obsidian was not included in most early lapidaries, texts which describe gemstones and their powers. However archaeological evidence reveals that Obsidian was used to create some of the very oldest cultural artifacts in human history.
The very earliest Obsidian tools date to the Oldowan, at the very dawn of the Paleolithic/Stone Age (2.6 million -10,000 BCE). Archaeologists believe that the very earliest hominid to use stone tools was Australopithecus garhi (2.5 million BCE) who lived in Ethiopia and is believed to be one of our direct ancestors. Among the fossil remains for this early hominid are obsidian tools used for chopping, scraping, and piercing.
Sometime later two other early hominids began making stone tools; Homo habilis(2.4-1.4 million BCE), whose name means “Handy Man” precisely because he used stone tools, and Homo erectus (1.89 million – 143,000 BCE), the first hominid to stand upright like a modern human.
Whether each species discovered stone tools independently, or were taught to use them, is a matter of speculation. Equally so, it is impossible to know whether these tools were purely practical or if they had any spiritual purpose.
Gold Sheen Obsidian can also be traced back to the ancient Aztec civilizations who used the stone for religious and ceremonial purposes; believing it to have great powers and protection against evil. It was also used to create intricate decorations and artwork, as its unique golden sheen added a touch of magic to any work of art.
The native people of Mexico and South America believed that the stone was a gift from the gods, and that it held sacred and magical powers. It was said to enhance spiritual communication, promote clarity of thought, and provide protection against negative energies.
As the centuries passed, the uses of Gold Sheen Obsidian continued to evolve. It became a popular stone for meditation and healing, as its reflective surface helped people to connect with their inner selves and find peace and harmony. It was also believed to promote courage, strength, and a deeper understanding of the world around us.
The myths and legends associated with Gold Sheen Obsidian are just as fascinating as its history. It was said that the stone was created by the gods as a way to protect and guide humans, and that it had the power to reveal hidden truths and secrets.
In Central and North America, Obsidian was a symbol of Tezcatlipoca, the chief god of the Aztec religion. Tezcatlipoca was the god of night, storms, kings, shamans, war, and beauty.
Some also believed that Gold Sheen Obsidian was the embodiment of the sun, and that it's golden glow represented the eternal light that guides us through life.
Today, Gold Sheen Obsidian remains a popular stone for meditation, healing, and spiritual practices. Its connections to ancient beliefs and traditions continue to inspire and guide us, connecting our souls with the natural world and the powerful energies that surround us.
